No. 38 Drowning

ok, the forestory: So for some odd reason Severus and Hermoine had to travel back in time to save somethin....NO! They had to go back in time to prevent the creation of a horocruxe, and the time they are in is the dark ages and they have to use as little magic as humanly possible, and they get caught and someone fingers Severus as a witch and this is what they do to him when he doesn't cooperate.

Hermione stayed quiet in the crowd and watched as Severus was tied and little too ridiculously. He had also been gagged, he shouted one too many obscenities at he townspeople. He was pulled to his feet and the town preacher began his speech. Hermione looked up to see Severus looking at her. She shrugged. 'What the hell does he want me to do?' She asked herself and looked around. The man next to her had an impressive looking dagger tied to his belt. Hermione as carefully as she could untied the dagger and slipped it into the folds of the dress she was wearing.

Hermione left the crowd, which was engrossed in their preachers words of damnation. Hermione slipped behind a carriage and pulled that stupid dress off. She walked back to the river and followed it back to the dock.
"Shes going to save him!" Someone shouted. Hermione ducked and hid the knife in her shirt before they grabbed her and pulled her up next to Severus.
"Throw them both in together!" The preacher shouted. Hermione rolled her eyes as her hands were tied behind her back and a small iron ball was shackled to her ankle.

Severus was pushed over then Hermione. Hermione took a deep breath and let the ball drag her to the bottom. When she hit the bottom she bent her one leg and pulled it through her arms. Then she picked up the iron shot and let it fall through her arms as well. Once both hands were in front of her she pulled her wand from up her pant leg, Severus' had been snapped(which explains the obscenities)
She cast a bubble head charm on herself and began to breath easily. She strapped the wand back to her shin and took the knife from her shirt. She got her hands free and looked around to find Severus.

Severus wasn't too far and she swam over to him. She reached down to cut his legs free but reached for her wand to cast a bubble head charm on him as well. She could hear him choking. He tried to breath through his soaked gag. The fabric was letting in took much water for him to handle. Hermione reached up and pulled the gag off him.

Severus caught his breath as Hermione cut away the rope from his arms, wrists, and then his legs. Hermione went to swim up but Severus grabbed her hand. He pointed down stream and swam down to the iron ball. He picked it up and it held him on the river floor and he began to walk downstream. Hermione followed his example and they followed the river for what seemed like forever.

When Severus let go off the shot Hermione followed and they swam to shore. Hermione just laid out on the sand and panted. Her arms were numb as were Severus'.
"Come on," He said and forced himself to get up, though he was water logged.
"What?" Hermione asked.
"We have to atleast get out of the water," He said, helping her up.
"We can't stop now,"
